| This training focuses on concepts relating to life cycle analysis, alternative material selection, by-product reduction, waste exchange and zero landfill and will demonstrate some practical tools that can be implemented to reduce or eliminate the solid waste stream. These concepts are put into practice through a "Dumpster Dive" activity within a simulated company to sort the trash they produce; calculate the costs associated with managing this waste; and generate ideas for reducing, reusing and/or recycling to save money and improve the environment. |

This three and a half day workshop is designed to help prepare you to take the SME Green Manufacturing Certificate Exam which is being offered on the morning of the fourth day. We will review the exam body of knowledge developed from the Purdue TAP Green Enterprise Development program and associated reading materials, in order to help you understand topics and questions that may appear on the exam.
